Properly configured, SAP makes it possible to centralize data, align teams, and reduce friction. When fully utilized, it becomes a performance driver for the entire organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"308\" data-end=\"619\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">That\u2019s what we observed at Berger, a global leader in the manufacturing of horticultural mixes. The implementation of SAP already provided a solid foundation for managing operations. However, certain practices could be optimized in order to fully leverage the solution\u2019s potential and capture even more value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"653\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"651\">Key observations included:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"706\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Capacity analysis in SAP that could be improved;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"830\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Inventories that could be even more accurate by optimizing communication with the MES (Manufacturing Execution System);<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"830\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Opportunities to improve MRP training to reduce reliance on manual validations;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Internal processes that could be made faster and smoother.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1017\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Optimization and automation<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1019\" data-end=\"1274\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our two-month mandate consisted of identifying optimization levers to propose simple, robust solutions aligned with SAP standard practices. The goal: reduce unnecessary manipulations, limit custom developments, and refocus users on exception management.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1276\" data-end=\"1580\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One of the proposed solutions concerned the visualization of weekly workload on production lines. In their context, the \u201cManage Work Center Capacity\u201d tile was not suitable. We were able to maximize the value of SAP thanks to the \u201cMonitor Process Order\u201d tile, enhanced with a tailored selection variant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1775\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This approach provided direct access to visualization without additional development. The production planner could now rely directly on SAP-generated data without depending on external files.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1775\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Concrete and immediate gains<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1895\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Elimination of Excel files: teams now work with consolidated data in SAP;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1898\" data-end=\"2011\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Greater reliability of planned orders: some internal practices were optimized, particularly exception handling;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2014\" data-end=\"2116\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; An autonomous planner: the planner can now assess capacities without depending on other departments;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2119\" data-end=\"2259\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Increased automation: enabling human efforts to be concentrated where they add the most value\u2014analysis, verification, and decision-making.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Smart and full use of SAP<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2299\" data-end=\"2570\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This mandate illustrates how an already implemented SAP solution can be leveraged to its full potential.
